This photo shoot was the culmination of a dream team of designers, builders & friends. Eric and Jennifer Hoffmann of Mammoth Mill & Construction built this luxury lodge for a client in Texas who comes to Angel Fire to get out of the heat in the summer and take his kids snowboarding in the winter. He also rents it out on Vacation Rental by Owner. You can find more information about it here.
The “People’s Choice” Award Winner in the Angel Fire 2015 Parade of Homes, it is a quintessential luxury lodge with loads of bunk beds for the kids, a game room, and a stunning view of the highest peak in New Mexico from a wrap around deck with a hot tub.
I asked Jennifer to gather a multi generational group of people to show the house at it’s full potential. A tall order, but Jennifer is an organizer on an epic scale. Not only do they have four amazing daughters, but they have a host of clients and friends that would be happy to help them because Jen & Eric do so much for their clients.
My husband brought our three-month year old son, the Hoffmann’s son-in-law is a musician, friends brought wine and snacks, and the kids played foosball. Given a well designed space, beautiful food, entertainment and good company, people will naturally choreograph perfect photographs. Lifestyle photography for custom homes is really just good party planning.
It would have been easier to take photographs without people, but we wouldn’t have been able to tell the stories that ignite the imagination. Architectural photography with people captures spirit, and that’s what people are looking for when they build a home or landscape. Can it host a party, will the children travel from Texas to visit, does it encourage people to live fuller, does it have story? Yes.
Cheers, Melissa Lind
